Welcome to The Hazlemere Players! With over 60 years of experience, our friendly and fun-loving group is dedicated to the joy of amateur dramatics. We proudly present two to three productions each year, featuring a delightful Summer Supper Evening and a lively pantomime every two years. Explore our website to discover our rich history of comedies, murder, and period dramas!
We are a sociable group. From time to time we arrange informal get-togethers, meals out, or go to see theatre performances. We have a popular annual barbeque in the summer, and a Christmas meal out together. We also have a promotional stall at Hazlemere Fete every year, where we provide fun activities for visitors.
A role for everyone You do not have to be a thespian to have a role to play. There are plenty of backstage and front of house jobs to do, including props, costumes, lighting, sound and set-building. Any member can put themselves forward to the committee if they wish to direct a play or pantomime, with full support given. Your first production with us is ‘free of charge’ after which there is a subscription of £40.00 per annum. There is no charge for children.
When and where we meet We meet every Tuesday evening at 8.00 p.m. in the small hall at Hazlemere Community Centre, Rose Avenue, HP15 7UB. Parking and licensed bar available. If you are coming along for the first time, please email to check that there is a meeting or a rehearsal that evening as, occasionally, there may be a ‘week off’. As the performance dates draw closer, we also rehearse on Thursday evenings and some Sundays. On the Tuesday evening after a production you will find us having a drink in the bar, putting the play ‘to bed’ and looking forward to the next one!
